Changing Light” is an exhibition of oil and acrylic paintings by Brooke Jarvis, depicting the expansive skies, vibrant colours and vast landscapes of the Riverina. The artworks in the exhibition show beauty in simple, quiet moments and evoke wonder and awe through dramatic skies and mesmeric horizons. Expressive mark making in the oil landscapes create drama and emotion, while the free-flowing acrylic pour paintings are an exploration of the possibilities of paint, texture and materiality. In these paintings, birds merge with the abstract landscape creating a sense of presence and absence, and the passing of time. The paintings are all inspired by the artist's personal photographs and experiences while living in the Riverina.
