GRAPA presents God of Carnage

Yasmina Reza’s razor-sharp God of Carnage follows the events after 11-year-old Ferdinand Reilly strikes Bruno Vallon with a stick, knocking out two front teeth.

The parents of each boy meet. What begins as a civil discussion ultimately falls apart into a yelling match, not just the two couples pitted against each other, but between the couples themselves as their selfishness, prejudices, and neuroses bubble to the surface, spilling out all over the living room floor.

They say kids will be kids, but the adults are worse - much worse.

Held in the Burley Griffin Room, the latest GRAPA production is directed by local playwright, performer, and theatre-maker Bernie Maxwell and features a stellar local cast including Romina Tappi (Veronica), David Baxter (Michael), James Walsh (Alan), and Jenny Ellis (Annette). The dark, rollercoaster comedy is translated by Christopher Hampton, and is brought to you by arrangement with ORiGiN™ Theatrical on behalf of Samuel French - a Concord Theatricals Company.
